The Native Prairie Restration/Reclamation Workshop Planning Committee is now accepting abstracts for oral presentations for the 11th workshop, February 12-13, 2025 at the Atlas Hotel in Regina, SK. The workshop will include oral presentations, case studies, panel discussions, tradeshow and poster session. The Prairie Fire Summit 2025 is occurring February 11th, 2025 and is not accepting oral presentation abstracts.
About NPRRW:
The workshop theme is "Collaborative Approaches to Prairie Conservation".
Attendance of approximately 250 participants is expected, including government, environmental non-profit organizations, industry, research and academic institutions, environmental consultants, land managers, agriculture and more.
Presentation categories include (but are not limited to): Invasives species, Soil, Seeds (collecting, supplying, storing), Restoration outcomes and monitoring, New technology, Industry, Building relationships with Indigenous communities, Land Manager Perspectives, Skills Development, Wetland restoration and conservation. If you have a topic that might not fit in the above categories, please contact Carolyn at pcap@sasktel.net to discuss.
Oral presentations will be 23 minutes, plus 5 minutes for questions from the audience. Concurrent sessions will be organized by topic and presenters will be notified about their scheduled presentation time in December.
The submission deadline for oral presentation abstracts was extended to October 25th, 2024 at 5 PM MT. Abstracts must be under 250 words, and should include a statement of objectives, brief description of methods, results, lessons learned and conclusions. Projects need to pertain to native prairie restoration or reclamation in some way. Do not include author information in the abstract.
If you need a deadline extension because requesting approval to submit an abstract within your agency/organization/ministry takes time, please contact Carolyn at pcap@sasktel.net to discuss, as an extension may be granted.
Registration
All presenters must register for the event. Early Bird registration is strongly recommended. Registration information will be posted on the PCAP website, www.pcap-sk.org.
