Call for Proposals

ANATS Ltd invites teachers, scholars, practitioners, and performers to submit Abstracts for inclusion in the 2025 ANATS National Conference, Inspiring Voices: The Future of Singing Teaching, to be held 3-6 July, 2025 at the state-of-the-art facilities of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music’s Ian Potter Southbank Centre in Melbourne, Victoria.

Applicants may choose between different Presentation Types:

• A talk. A talk will last 20 minutes, followed by a 5-minute question time. The talk should present on a topic related to the conference theme and will be grouped into sessions according to content.
• An interactive workshop. An interactive workshop should be practical in nature and focus on real-time demonstration with the attendees or with participating singers organized in advance. Workshops will last up to 45 minutes, followed by a 5-minute question time.
• A lecture recital. This is an opportunity to for you to present a performance with insightful commentary, so as to combine vocal expression with academic reflection. These will last up to 45 minutes.
• A poster presentation. Posters will be on display for the duration of the conference. There will also be dedicated times in the program schedule when authors can meet with conference delegates to discuss the topic presented. The submitted poster Abstract (max 350 words) and the actual poster should contain the investigator’s objectives, methods, results and conclusions.

All talks, workshops, lecture recitals, and poster presentations will be delivered in-person at the Ian Potter Southbank Centre, home of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Melbourne, Victoria.

All submissions will be evaluated by the ANATS Ltd Conference Committee.

​The topic of your talk, poster presentation, lecture recital or workshop should address singing practice, pedagogy and research related to the conference theme: inspiration.

4. Upload Photo(s). Note: you will need to provide a high-resolution photo of all presenters (minimum 300 dpi)
5. SAVE your application.
6. Click SUBMIT to submit application

Your application can be started and completed later, however the application will not be considered complete until all requested information has been provided.

Saving and accessing your incomplete application
To save your incomplete application, go to the bottom of the form a click 'Save'. From here, you can save and access your form via two methods:

a. Creating a Jotform account

1. After clicking 'Save', you'll see a pop-up asking you to sign up to Jotform. Once you have created this account, your incomplete application will be saved. 
2. To access your form using this method, you can head to jotform.com and log in using the email and password you created.

b. Skip creating a Jotform account

1. After clicking 'Save', you'll see a pop-up asking you to sign up to Jotform. You can select the 'Skip Create An Account' button at the bottom of the pop-up, in which you will be prompted to input your email to recieve the link to your draft application.
2. Once you recieve this link in your email inbox, you can use this link to access your incomplete application.

Please note that ANATS Ltd. are not able to provide technical support, as Jotform is a third-party platform. We recommend writing your answers in advance in case your saved, incomplete application cannot be recovered in the rare event of a technical issue.

There will be a data projector, laptop, lectern with a microphone and piano in each room.
Note: Presenters will be required to provide their presentation in advance via email. More information will be provided on acceptance.
