RESEARCH GRANTS FOR EDUCATORS IN THE UNITED STATES (NOT AVAILABLE TO INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS)
Educators in the US may apply for grants of up to $1,500.00 for equipment and logistical support to enable student environmental research. Students are expected to produce research projects and share data through publicly available (or non-proprietary) platforms. Grantees must commit to coaching students in conducting research projects and sharing their observations and reports.
LOCAL STUDENT RESEARCH SYMPOSIA IN THE UNITED STATES (NOT AVAILABLE TO INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS)
Educators and organizations in the US may apply for grants of up to $5,000 for local student research symposia (SRS). The local SRS supported by YLACES is to be modeled on the GLOBE Regional SRS model (https://www.globe.gov/web/united-states-of-america/home/student-research-symposia) with an emphasis on peer to peer review and access to STEM professionals but instead should be one-day events with student participants drawn from a school, school district(s), a locale, or a small region. YLACES provides grantees with evaluation materials and completion is an expectation of grantees. YLACES will award up to seven of these grants a year.
INTERNATIONAL EQUIPMENT GRANTS
International environmental educators or organizations may submit grant proposals for equipment up to $1500.00 to facilitate youth environmental research and data collection. Note this is the only grant type currently available outside of the US. Applicants must have the endorsement from the GLOBE Program Coordinator in their country to submit an application - https://www.globe.gov/about/learn/who-uses-globe/country-coordinators
