Thank you for your interest in becoming a Mentor on the 24/25 Career Mentoring Programme at Maynooth University. The aim of this programme is to match student mentees with alumni mentors who can offer honest support and guidance as students take the next steps in their career.

The following form aims to gather as much information about you and your career experience to date. Students self-select their own mentor based on the career and education information you include - so the more information, the better! It should take 15 minutes to complete.

The timeline and commitment of the programme is as follows;

1. Submit your application form by 5pm Thursday, 3rd October 2024.
2. The Career Mentoring Team will contact you by Friday 29th November 2024 informing you if you have a match.
   If matched:
3. Attend a virtual orientation talk the first week of December (exact date and time TBC)
4. Meet with your mentee at least 4 times between December 2024 and May 2025.
5. Complete the Mentoring feedback form at the end of the experience.

Please note: Mentoring matches are not guaranteed and participation in this initiative is dependent upon a suitable mentee being available. This opportunity is voluntary. Applications can be saved and edited, saving an application does not submit it. Applications must be submitted once complete.

This initiative was established by the Careers and Employability Service, Access Office and Development and Alumni Relations Office in October 2020.

We understand the effort involved in creating your application for this programme, therefore, we have implemented a new system designed to streamline the process. If you submitted an application last year, some of your data from it will be automatically populated into the form once you provide the exact same email address as last year and press the button "pre-fill form". This will allow you to view, edit, and update last year’s application before resubmitting.

We try to ensure mentors and mentees are matched based on their shared interests and experience. Please identify the top career area you can support our mentees with using the Career Area Expertise (1) box below.

There is also an option to add additional areas of career expertise should you have experience across a number of sectors / areas.
