2025-2026 Application for AIRE Master - M1 (First year)
The Université Paris Cité AIRE Master’s Degree is looking for students willing to accelerate the transitions of the 21st-century related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The AIRE Master program at the LPI harnesses our extensive international network of leading researchers to provide a progressive, interdisciplinary education. This program transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries by integrating diverse fields, including Natural, Physical, Numerical, Digital, Medical and Social sciences, with a deep exploration of their connections to sustainability and planetary health. It is designed to cultivate a thorough understanding of complex data derived from living and social systems, along with their interactions within environmental contexts, through experiential learning opportunities such as internships. Participants in this program will develop key competencies in research, critical analysis, and understanding the societal applications of knowledge, preparing them to address global challenges related to planetary health and sustainability.

Our program blends rigorous research with a competency-based curriculum that emphasises essential 21st-century skills, including creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, innovation, digital literacy, and ethical practices. Students are required to complete one internship of at least 4 months during the second semester of M1, followed by two to three internships lasting a total of 9 months in M2.

The AIRE Master’s Degree is a national 2-year diploma of Université Paris Cité. The degree is part of the EURIP Graduate School which offers opportunities to continue your postgraduate studies with a 3-year PhD for selected applicants.

Proficiency in English is mandatory as all courses are conducted in English, ideally C1 level is expected.

French is strongly recommended, ideally A1-A2 level, given the compulsory internships throughout the program, it is essential to reach an A2 level in French quickly to increase your opportunities.

8. Your living plan during the Master
Once admission to the master's program is confirmed, you must proceed with registration at Université Paris Cité. Tuition fees are determined annually by Université Paris Cité. For the academic year 2025-2026, it has been decided to maintain the tuition fees for international students at the same level as those for French and European students. Please note that the exact fees are yet to be determined, and additional CVEC fees will apply. This policy applies to students who have not interrupted their studies for more than 2 years.

Our program can provide a very limited number of excellence scholarships (EURIP and Liliane Bettencourt Excellence fellowships), which will be awarded after the interviews on the basis of Academic Excellence. We highly encourage applicants to look for other types of scholarships to ensure their funding.

It is really important for you to have a funding plan for your stay in Paris so as to study in good conditions. You will need a minimum of 1250€ per month to live decently in Paris, provided you stay at a university residency (refer to our FAQ for details). Depending on your project, we can help you with advice or reference letters that can be useful for you to get a scholarship, student housing, etc.

Please note that due to mandatory attendance and participation in courses, seminars, and projects scheduled from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, holding a part-time job is hardly feasible.

The following documents are required to complete the submission of your application to the Master AIRE program. All must be in PDF format except for the photo, which can be pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, or gif. Each file may be at most 1MB (1024KB).
- A recent ID photo;
- A copy of your identity document (passport, identity card, etc.);
- A copy of your most recent diploma, translated into English or French by a sworn/official translator(¹);
- A copy of your most recent diploma grade transcripts, translated into English or French by a sworn/official translator;
- A copy of your high school grade transcripts (French bac or equivalent), translated into English or French by a sworn/official translator;
- Your resume (or curriculum vitae) up-to-date;
- English level certificate: at least B2 or equivalent(²);
- Contact information for TWO referees willing to provide letters of recommendation (they will receive a form via email from the Master AIRE office);
