MAKING THEATRE! Curious City
Ages 11-17
11AM to 4PM
Thursday 3 October - Friday 4 October, 2024
@ Singleton Youth Venue
Inspired by Tantrum’s school holiday performance event WonderCity for New Annual, participants will create their own new version of Singleton and bring the imagined intriguing characters that live within it to life. Developed from the prompt, “if you were in charge, what changes would you make?”, the participants will rewrite Singleton’s history through map-making, rule-breaking, world-building fun.
After two days, these new citizens will share their reimagined city with friends and family.
Join Tantrum’s professional teaching artists to learn new skills, make friends, and most importantly – play!
Tantrum’s drama workshops put young people at the centre of their creative expression, supporting participants to use their voice, follow their instincts, and make what they want to make.
Parents, carers, friends, join us at 3:30pm on the Friday for a tour of the new Curious City.
Tantrum is proud to partner with Singleton Council to deliver this project.
About Tantrum
Tantrum is the leading youth arts company in the Hunter region (NSW, Australia) and a not-for-profit co-operative. Utilising performance, storytelling and so much more, we offer meaningful creative workshops, projects and opportunities for young people aged 5 to 30 that build confidence, connections and compassion.
We believe artistic expression is a powerful tool for young people to make sense of themselves, their community and the world around them, leading to change.
