He is a life member and the founder of the Vermont Pastel Society and has judged several important exhibitions. His works hang in many private and corporate collections and commercial galleries including Sean Dye Studio on Main St. in Vergennes, VT.

He wrote The Mixed-Media Sourcebook and Painting with Water Soluble Oils. His paintings were featured in Caroline Jasper’s book Powercolor. His work also appears in North Light's book Painting the Elements: Weather Effects in Oil, Acrylic, and Watercolor. Look for his Oil, Oil Pastel, Watercolor, Pastel, and Mixed-media DVDs.

    Demo Description

Sean will demonstrate some of his mixed-media and watercolor techniques on large paper. Sean has been working with Holbein Watercolor since 1978. During the demo, Sean will use some of Holbein’s 24 new granulating colors. He will also introduce some of Holbein’s 12 new luminous colors into the painting.

Last year Holbein added 48 new colors to their Artists’ Gouache line for a total now of 137 colors! Sean will be sure to show you some of these new colors and work those into the painting as well. Sean loves the Holbein Gouache because they never use whitening agents and thus avoid milky, muddy overtones to the colors.
