EMERGING TECHNOLOGY AWARD ENTRY FORM
(Technology under development that could provide significant future value)
The Emerging Technology Award aims to identify and recognise new UK-developed technology ideas for the offshore energy sector (oil and gas, CCUS, hydrogen and all forms of renewables).
The technology will be a product or a service at an early stage of development with potential for significant future value to the sector and industry. It may be at the initial stages of application - or it may be running in a pilot project or even a trial deployment but will NOT have a long track record of operational success in the offshore energy sector.
Responses may include:
- Technologies that have been successful in other industries and sectors but have not yet been successfully deployed into the offshore energy sector
- New technologies or concepts that have no track record of commercial or operational success in any sector
- Technology concepts with proposed application to the sector
- Proofs of concept, validation, and/or demonstration of the technology in lab and operational environments
- A combination of operationally and commercially successful technologies that have not previously been combined and used for operational advantage in the offshore energy environment
The technology can apply to any area of the industry’s activity, including digital, HS&E, energy transition etc.
The judges will be looking for evidence of novelty and innovation in your idea, clear evidence that it addresses a need within the industry and has a clear operational outcome and a compelling road map which might include a business case for progression and scaling. Please do not submit other supporting information - only the answers provided on this form will be judged.
