2025 Daffodil Festival Print Contest
Please accept this invitation to submit your original art in the Gloucester, Virginia, Annual Daffodil Festival Print Contest. This contest is open to all area artist and Gloucester High School Senior Art students. We are looking for artwork more representative of a framed art print, although the final product will be printed with the yearand "Daffodil Festival, Gloucester, Virginia. The Daffodil Festival celebrates the heritage of Gloucester, promotes a positive image, creates a sense of community spirit, and provides beautification throughout Gloucester County.
Artwork should portray the History of Gloucester or theme of the festival ( "It's All Sunshine & Daffodils At The") by including daffodils. All artists are expected to attend the 2025 Print Unveiling Reception for the winning artwork reveal. The reception is scheduled for March 22nd 2-4PM at Gloucester Fine Arts Museum.
The winning artwork will remain with the Daffodil Festival. All other artworks can be picked up at the conclusion of the Print Unveiling Reception. The winning artist is obligated to attend the Daffodil Festival to display his/her artwork. In addition, the winning entry will become part of the 2025 Daffodil Festival celebration. The festival will be held on Saturday, April 5 & Sunday, April 6, 2024. Entries will be accepted Saturday, January 11th, 1:00-5:00 pm at the Gloucester Main Street Library.
Entry Fee: $25.00 (Check or cash only. Please make checks out to Gloucester County) - Payment to be accepted when artwork is dropped off.
*First Place - $1,000.00
*Honorable Mention - $350.00
Artist Eligibility All accepted artists agree to abide by the following policies and procedures. Failure to do so will result in the removal of your submission from the competition.
1. Types of Work: All images submitted to the Daffodil Festival, must be original works of art. The contest is open to all mediums. The artwork should not have been entered in any previous competition. The art must include daffodils in a creative but realistic interpretation (Note: Daffodils have six petals) and should reflect the overall "feeling" of the Daffodil Festival and history of Gloucester.
Artwork should be no smaller than 12" X 16" and no larger than 20" X 30". The Daffodil Festival reserves the right to modify the winning artwork in accordance with the printing process.
2.Submission Guidelines: The finished artwork should be ready to hang with complete framing (frame and hanging wire Paper entries should be matted and framed; all oils and acrylics should be framed and ready to hang. (Oils and Acrylics should be Completely Dry
3. Number of Entries: There is no limit to the number of entries accepted per person. Each entry will require a separate entry fee. Make checks payable to: Gloucester County.
4. Submission of Artwork: Artwork should be hand delivered to: Gloucester Library 6920 Main Street Gloucester, Virginia Saturday, January 11th 1:00-5:00 pm
