The AAOS annually reviews applications for the AAOS PROMs Vendor Program from interested vendors who can provide secure, user-friendly PROMs services to its membership. The AAOS strongly believes that the utilization of PROMs in clinical care, combined with traditional clinical information (e.g., physical exam findings, imaging, etc.), is crucial to supporting a patient-centric approach to musculoskeletal care via shared decision-making, predictive analytics, and postoperative monitoring to understand a patient’s response to a treatment.
Beyond numerous benefits to musculoskeletal care, PROMs are primarily used in clinical research/retrospective applications (e.g., research studies, registries, etc.) and the use of PROMs at the point of care are infrequently incorporated due to actual or perceived barriers to implementation, including direct and indirect costs, time constraints, lack of knowledge on how to use PROMs effectively, and/or lack of perceived value to treatment outcome. Furthermore, individual clinicians and health systems that gather PROMs data are often collecting and using them independently and individually.
The AAOS seeks to promote qualified vendors via its AAOS PROMS Vendor Program to offer AAOS members increased access to systems/solutions that reduce the burden of collecting, storing, analyzing, and utilizing validated PROMs at the point of care to improve the quality of musculoskeletal healthcare.
Interested vendors should fill out the form listed below, and/or provide additional information, accordingly.
Selected vendors will be promoted annually to AAOS membership practicing within the United States as “AAOS PROMs Vendors” via numerous outlets (e.g., social media, AAOS Now, AAOS Headline News, AAOS Annual Meeting, etc.) as determined by AAOS.
