Deck the House: A holiday decorating spectacle

Get ready to make Freetown merry and bright with "Deck the House," a holiday home decorating contest! All Freetown residents are invited to showcase their holiday spirit by decorating their homes in fun and unique ways.

How to Participate:

Simply decorate your home and submit a photo by December 14th, 2024.

After registering, your home will appear on an online map showing where residents can view all the light displays (please note: community members are not permitted to enter the mapped properties).

Winners will receive Facebook recognition and a lawn sign marking their home as an award winner

Important Dates:

Registration Deadline: Saturday, December 14th.

Voting Period: Wednesday, December 17th - Thursday, December 18th.

Winners Announced: Friday, December 19th.

Rules:

Submit one photo of your decorated residence by filling out this form or emailing communityprogramdirector@freetownma.gov. (No videos)

Include your name, address, phone number, and email.

The contest is for Freetown residents only.

Decorations must be exterior (including windows visible from outside).

Your entry will be posted on www.facebook.com/freetownma/ on December 17th with your first name and address (unless you request otherwise).

Entries with political content, offensive language or imagery, or other inappropriate materials will be disqualified.

In case of a tie, the Community Program Director will cast the deciding vote.

Categories:

Brightest House: For the most dazzling and visually striking light display.

Best Traditional Display: Celebrating classic holiday themes and traditional charm

Most Creative: Honoring the most imaginative and original decorations.

Town Hall’s Favorite: Selected by Town Hall staff for the most impressive overall display.

Voting:

Starting December 17th, all Freetown residents can view and vote for their favorite holiday house on www.facebook.com/freetownma/ by “liking” their favorite entry.

Voting ends on December 18th.
