Satellite Event Application
Host a satellite event at your institution to connect your local physics community to and participate in the 2025 APS Global Physics Summit.

Apply by October 25, 2024, if you plan to host a satellite event and organize a virtual session presented at the APS Global Physics Summit. Apply by January 13, 2025, if you wish to host a satellite event without organizing a virtual session.

Organizers confirm that the host organization and venue would have the necessary resources to host the proposed event (e.g., adequate bandwidth, space, audio-visual equipment, stable internet connection, financing [pending any potential APS support])*
This event includes a physics talk by a local speaker and/or a networking component for young physicists and physics students*
Organizers and attendees will abide by the Code of Conduct for APS Meetings https://www.aps.org/about/governance/policies-procedures/code-of-conduct*

Deadline Information:

Application Deadline to organize a virtual session: October 25, 2024
For applicants that wish to organize a virtual Global Physics Summit session, the application deadline is October 25. Those applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process by November 8. Session information—including title, chair, speakers, and abstracts—are due by November 27.

Application Deadline for sites not organizing a virtual session: January 13, 2025
For all other applicants (i.e., those that will not organize a virtual session), applications are due by January 13, 2025. Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process on a rolling basis, i.e., as applications are received.
