River Valley Association 2025 Tournament Rules:
1. Team, singles and doubles will be run on a handicap basis: 90% of 230
2. Entrants shall use their highest league average in the River Valley Association as of the end of the previous winter season providing, they have bowled 21 games or more in one league. An entrant without a previous average shall be permitted to bowl using their highest current league average in the River Valley Association for at least 12 games in one league, if average is established by close of entries.
3. If current season average for at least 21 games at the time of bowling exceeds last season's average by 15 or more pins, current season average must be used.
4. An entrant may participate in the team event more than once, according to the number of leagues in which they bowl. If they bowl in two leagues, they may bowl team event twice. If the bowler has entered ALL EVENTS, the score they bowl in their first team event will be used. Teams may be made up from different leagues, including mixed leagues.
5. Substitutes are allowed when a replacement is necessary. The tournament manager must be notified of the substitution at least one-half hour before the scheduled bowling time. In case of an emergency after a game has started, a substitute shall be allowed if one is available in the team and doubles events only. If no substitute is available only the actual score of the frames bowled is allowed.
6. Under no circumstances shall an unauthorized person go beyond the bowling bench while tournament is in play. Only tournament management is allowed. There shall be no coaching allowed.
7. Any protest affecting the eligibility of a bowler or general playing rules must be confirmed in writing to the tournament manager before the tournament prize payments are made. Errors in scoring must be reported to the tournament manager within 48 hours. Check your scores often during the game to ensure accuracy.
8. Bowlers are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled shift.
9. A total of six (6) games will be bowled for this tournament, three (3) for team and three (3) for doubles/singles with the payment being individually for doubles and for singles.
10. Entry fee will be $25 per event, per person and all events fee will be $5 per person. All Events is an optional event. There is a $6 Admministrative Fee to cover costs of hosting this tournament.
11. If a bowler is late arriving to the tournament, they will be allowed to bowl the remaining frames of the first game, receiving zeros for missed frames and finish the series.
12. If a bowler is late to bowl their current frame when they are up to bowl, they will receive a zero for that frame.
13. Entry fee must accompany the entry form. If a bowler is unable to bowl, they are responsible for getting a substitute. Refunds will be given only upon the approval of the tournament management, and this must be a just cause.
14. All decisions of the tournament management are final unless an appeal is made in accordance with Rule 329.
15. Bowlers will be respectful to other bowlers and equipment in the bowling alley. Bowlers will refrain from using abusive, threating language or obscene gestures from or to any bowlers or otherwise. If a bowler feels threatened or feels there is an obscene gesture, they should contact a tournament committee member immediately.
16. No bowlers under the age of 18 are allowed due to the SafeSport rule.
17. All USBC rules will apply.
