Hours: Hours will be variable and are not guaranteed. Student Ambassadors decide which shifts to apply for and the UK Recruitment Team allocates them in accordance with operational needs.

The Post:
Student Ambassadors play a vital role in aiding the UK and International Recruitment Department in a variety of recruitment events on and off campus. You are the face and voice of the University. You are responsible for ensuring each guest, prospective student, etc. receives a friendly, warm and welcoming impression of the University no matter what kind of event or shift you are working. Being a Student Ambassador gives you the opportunity to share your positive experiences of Roehampton to important stakeholders including prospective students and parents. All Student Ambassadors are expected to be friendly and professional at all times.
Student Ambassador responsibilities:
The responsibilities of a Student Ambassador include but are not limited to:
Campus Tours (large, small, or 1-2-1)
Recruitment Fairs through UCAS, UK University Search, What University, etc.
PGCE Taster and Open Events
Assisting with Graduation
International Summer schools /arrivals
Enrolment
Social Media Content Creation
HE Fairs at schools and colleges
School talks and presentations
Campus tours and visits
Widening Participation events with IntoUniversity, AimHigher, etc.
Assisting Primary Education, Nursing and Dance interview days
Welcome and registration
Q&A sessions
Sign posting
***All Student Ambassadors are expected to be involved in: Open Days, Offer Holder Days, Wimbledon BookFest and Clearing***
Skills and Experience:
No experience is required, but we are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and positive individuals who are responsible and reliable. Student Ambassadors need to have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to communicate well with a variety of audiences including prospective students, parents, teachers, etc. When working a shift as a Student Ambassador, the highest standards of customer service are expected at all times in relation to all stakeholders.
Conditions of Service:
The hourly rate will be £13.10 per hour, including holiday pay. Payment will be made monthly in arrears by direct credit transfer into your bank account usually on the 26th of every month.
There are no regular hours of work. Work opportunities will vary throughout the week and weekends including evenings and Saturdays with the occasional Sunday. Any work will be agreed in advance via When I Work (our scheduling and timesheet management platform) and once agreed must be honoured by the Student Ambassador.
A DBS and a Right to Work check are part of the employment process. If successful, you will be required to complete both and the appointment is conditional upon satisfactory pre-employment clearances.
The University is open almost 365 days a year with recruitment activities happening throughout the year, therefore the recruitment team will need to know in good time if you are going to be away from the University for extended periods of time including holidays.
