Sol y Luna Volunteer Application

IMPORTANT CONTEXT — PLEASE READ FIRST

Sol y Luna Festival is hosted at a private campground with:

- On-site security
- Bathrooms and showers
- Campground staff maintaining the premises
- A food truck on-site
- Controlled entry with check-in at the gate

Because of this infrastructure, the overall production workload is intentionally light.

The Sol y Luna Festival production team primarily needs support with:

- Setup and breakdown of 2–3 wedding tents
- Light decorative elements
- On-call assistance if and when needed

Volunteers will have plenty of time to participate in festival activities, and shifts are structured so that:

- Not everyone is working at once
- Volunteers rotate being “on call”
- Support is requested only when genuinely needed

That said, when support is needed, it must be reliable, timely, and complete.
This is why Sol y Luna Festival has clear, non-negotiable agreements around commitment, availability, and the refundable deposit.

VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT & AVAILABILITY

Volunteering at Sol y Luna Festival is a full-service production role, not a partial or casual position.

Required Availability
- Thursday afternoon — setup & pre-production
- Friday–Sunday — on-call support as needed
- Sunday evening — final breakdown & pack-out

Important:
Volunteers who arrive late or leave early waive their deposit refund due to the additional physical and energetic load placed on the production team.

Volunteer Exchange
- Volunteers receive FREE access to Sol y Luna Festival
- This access is granted in exchange for full-service volunteer support throughout the entire production

Full-service means:

- Showing up on time for setup
- Completing assigned responsibilities
- Remaining present and available through Sunday evening for final support and breakdown

Deposit Policy & Conditions
- A $50 refundable deposit is required to confirm your volunteer spot
- The deposit is refunded only if:
- You arrive on time
- You fulfill your assigned duties
- You stay until the end for final breakdown and support

If you:

- Arrive late
- Leave early
- Miss assigned shifts
- Or are unable to complete your commitment

You waive the deposit refund, as this requires the production team to absorb additional physical and energetic labor.

Additionally:

- No-shows, early departures, or incomplete commitments
result in forfeiture of the deposit and disqualification from volunteering at future productions.

As a Volunteer, you will receive a unique referral discount code that you may share with friends, family, or your wider community.

How It Works
- Your referral code gives your guests 10% off their ticket
- You receive 10% commission for each ticket sold using your code
- Ticket sales are tracked automatically
- Commission is paid according to production payout timelines

Promotion is not required for volunteers, but this option is available for those who feel aligned with inviting others into the experience.

Sol y Luna Festival is a sober, non-sexual, trauma-informed container.

As a Volunteer, you have:

- Behind-the-scenes access
- Proximity to participants and facilitators
- Responsibility to uphold the integrity of the field

The following are strictly prohibited:

- Drug or alcohol use at any time during the festival
- Sexual or intimate engagement with participants, facilitators, or other volunteers
- Offering healing sessions, coaching, readings, or services
- Selling or promoting products
- Using volunteer access to seek intimacy, influence, or personal gain

Any violation results in:

- Immediate removal from the festival
- Loss of free access
- Forfeiture of deposit
- Disqualification from future productions
