Join Slow Food in the Tetons and instructor, Ian McGregor, for six weeks of online cooking classes via Zoom. This series of classes will include hands-on seasonal recipes and step-by-step instructions to guide young chefs in developing their skills and flavors! Each class will last 90 minutes and include a variety of ingredients and culinary concepts.

SCHEDULE:
Classes will be 8 weeks from October 23rd - December 18th (Oct. 23, 30, Nov. 6, 13, 20, skip Thanksgiving week 27, Dec. 4, 11, 18)
Live Zoom classes are on Wednesdays from 4:30-6pm MST for 3rd-9th graders.
A link to the class recording will be sent out on Thursdays of each week for anyone who cannot attend the live session.
SUPPLIES:
A recipe and ingredient list will be sent out in advance of each class.
Students and parents will shop and ready their own supplies for each class.
Students will need access to a kitchen stove, oven, and basic kitchen tools and equipment.
Internet access and a device, such as a laptop, tablet or smartphone to login to Zoom.
TUITION:
$200 per student for local families in Jackson, includes the local food box
$150 per student outside of Jackson, does not include the local food box
For local families only - A surprise local ingredients box and IMPORTANT PICK UP DATE:
We are excited to offer this session's participants a surprise box of fresh, seasonal ingredients to highlight our vibrant local and regional food network! Please note that these boxes are a one-time pick up with contents that are intended to last for the entire session. They will be incorporated into upcoming recipes and will supply some of the needed ingredients. Shopping for additional ingredients will still be necessary.
LOCAL FOOD BOXES:
Boxes will be available for pick up on Thursday, October 17th from 1-5pm at the Farm Stand next to Graze Nursery (890 US Hwy 89).
CLASS NOTE:
Please do not include friends or additional visitors without obtaining advance permission from the instructor. The classes are carefully planned to allow individualized instruction and completion of recipes within the 90-minute time frame. Additional participants may hinder the instructor’s ability to help each student complete their recipe(s).
REFUND POLICY:
Cancellations must be received by Tuesday, October 15th for local students and Tuesday, October 22nd for out of town students, in order to receive a full refund, minus transaction fees. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after this date or for any missed classes.
MISSED CLASSES:
Classes will be recorded, and a link to the recording will be available for any students who miss a class or would like to review the material.
DIETARY PREFERENCES AND SUBSTITUTIONS (i.e. vegetarians, dairy free, gluten free, etc.)
Ingredient substitutions are the responsibility of participating families. Slow Food cooking class organizers cannot guarantee that alternative ingredients will be provided for individual dietary needs. When suggestions for substitutions are offered, please note that the recipe(s) provided may not be optimized for the substituted ingredients. Participants may need to complete their own adjustments and optimization of the ingredients/recipe outside of class to achieve the best results.
