Culture/Sport Merit Entry | Expression of Interest

Thank you for your interest in a St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace education for your son. The Merit Entry program is designed to provide enrolment to students who are performing at an elite or outstanding level of excellence in their field and who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the College. Please call the Enrolments office if you have any questions regarding this process on 3214 5200 (option 3).
Merit Entry Guidelines:
- Applicants submit an Expression of Interest for the Merit Entry program; providing information relevant to the applicant’s achievements.
- Consideration is only available for GPS Sport or Culture activities in which the College competes (sport activities listed here and culture activities listed here).
- An invitation to progress to a formal application is at the discretion of the College Director of Sport or Culture.
- This program is open to prospective students entering Years 7 to 10. Sport Merit Entry is not available for all year levels for all sports. Families with young children are encouraged to apply only when the student’s elite-level performance in their chosen field can be clearly quantified.
- Merit Entry may provide tuition fee relief or may only provide accelerated enrolment consideration.
- Any offer of enrolment with or without fee relief is made by and at the discretion of the College Principal.
- The College operates at full enrolment, a Merit entry enrolment will only be offered if an appropriate opportunity is (or becomes) available in the chosen cohort.
