What is the College Leadership Workshop?
The College Leadership Workshop (CLW) is an annual event hosted by the Rice Vietnamese Student Association designed to empower high school students with the knowledge and support to apply to college. The event is led by student volunteers from Rice University and UH who are eager to share their insights on college life, academics, and the admissions process. Our goal is to help high school students in the application process no matter where they want to attend college.
What will we be doing?
- Workshops covering a variety of topics: from tackling essays and extracurricular activities, to applying for financial aid and choosing the right college.
- Submit your essays for the opportunity to receive feedback from college students!
- Get a glimpse of Rice college life and dispel some common myths and fears about college.
- Hear from a keynote speaker: Jenny Le, Harvard and Columbia alum will be sharing advice and inspiration to the students
Who can come?
CLW is open to all students of any background and ANY grade level. There will also be Vietnamese-speaking college students available to answer any questions for native Vietnamese speakers.
Students and parents are encouraged to register. We will provide breakfast, lunch, and all workshop materials. Students will also receive a CLW T-shirt!
Note: We do not take refunds for shows/absences the day of CLW.
