Save Underdogs is a non-profit rescue group. We get no funding other than what we make at fundraisers. We don't have a facility. We are a foster home-based rescue group. Unless otherwise noted, all dogs are given a general vet exam, deworm, spay/neuter, heartworm test, parasite screen and current month of flea and heartworm preventative before being placed in a foster home. We ask that the foster home notify us several days ahead of time before their next dose is due. Foster homes are responsible for providing food. In some instances, if needed, we can provide food that has been donated to us. We usually keep a supply of other items like collars, harnesses, leashes, bowls, toys if needed. We ask that fosters be available (within reason) to pick up/drop off/meet when the foster dog has a meet & greet/adoption. You would not be responsible for doing meet & greets or adoptions, only meeting the person with the dog that is doing it. We don't do any weekend adoption events because we don't do "on-the-spot" adoptions, but we do participate in a couple of the large adoption events in the area a couple of times a year that the foster home is welcome to attend and bring their foster.
