Rules for WGA Series Awards
ELIGIBILITY RULES
Awards in the Drama, Comedy, Limited and New Series categories are for series that were produced by a WGA signatory company and aired or were exhibited between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024 (regardless of how many episodes aired or were exhibited during this period). Drama and Comedy Series are eligible for the New Series award if they were broadcast or exhibited for the first time during the eligibility period. Limited series are not eligible for the New Series award.
Signatory animated series are eligible for the Series awards. Signatory streaming series with episodes over 15 minutes in length are eligible for the Series awards.
For a series to be eligible, the WGA must have determined writing credits upon submission of a Notice of Tentative Writing Credits. Only writers employed on the series under a WGA collective bargaining agreement will be eligible for a Series nomination and award. Writer eligibility will be verified by the WGA. Financial core and fee payer non-members are not eligible to be nominated for or receive WGA Awards.
SUBMISSION RULES
Series written under a WGA collective bargaining agreement are not automatically deemed submitted for the WGA Series award. An entry form for each series must be submitted to the WGA for awards consideration.
The production company or any writer who received writing credit on the series may submit the series for awards consideration. Writer representatives (e.g. agents, managers or publicists) may submit on a writer’s behalf.
A receipt will automatically be sent to the email address of the entrant upon successful completion of the submission process.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The deadline for submission is 5:00 p.m. (PST)/8:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday, November 22, 2024. No late submissions will be accepted.
