Purpose
The MEF Innovative Teaching Grant program seeks to promote, reward, and celebrate innovative and imaginative instructional strategies that contribute to achieving program objectives.
Persons Eligible to Apply for Grants
Individuals or teams of individuals employed by the McAllen ISD who are involved in the instruction of students or related support services benefiting students.
Eligible Proposals
Instructional approaches or projects designed to begin during the 2024-2025 school year and which meet the selection criteria.
Responsibilities of Grant Recipients
- Use the grant for the purposes intended.
- We require the materials requested to be non-consumable.
- ALL GRANTS MUST REMAIN on Campus. If teacher/personnel leaves or moves to another campus all Grant materials will stay at awarded Campus.
- Prepare a brief final report with photos of your students benefiting from the grant funds. This will be shared with prospective donors, other teachers, and for inclusion in the MEF's Annual Report.
- Agree to share successful procedures in staff development sessions.
- When budgeting your project, please only use MISD Approved Vendors: Click here to view approved vendors.
- To ensure that every awarded project can be fully supported and executed, we do limit submissions to one application per educator. However, if you have more than one innovative project, we encourage you to discuss your ideas with your department or other teachers. If there are other educators who would be interested in championing and applying for one of your other grant ideas as a team, all ideas can be considered.
