OVERVIEW OF WELL DUNN'S PROGRAMMING:
Well Dunn provides inclusive and equitable experiences to diverse students with financial need that help them realize their aspirations to work in the music and entertainment industry. Founded in 2012 in memory of Emily Dunn, Well Dunn has worked with hundreds of students to find meaningful mentorships, internships, and employment in the music industry.
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM:
The mentorship program is an 8-week online learning experience where the mentee will attend weekly Music Industry Sessions and be paired with a Music Industry professional mentor.
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
The internship program runs in the summer, fall, and spring. We have internship opportunities available with our partner companies. We encourage students to apply year-round. If you are interested in a summer (2024) opportunity, we encourage you to apply by November.
JOB SHADOW PROGRAM:
The job shadow program enables students to shadow touring or venue professionals, offering an all-inclusive perspective into the intricacies of live music logistics. Opportunities for job shadowing are diverse, ranging from one-hour conversations with professionals (tour managers, accountants, production managers, light and sound operators, etc.) to a full day of shadowing from load-in to load-out, or a 24-hour around-the-clock experience. Please note that job shadowing is subject to availability from our partners and is not guaranteed.
EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
The Externship program offers week-long on-site experiences at music festivals throughout the United States. Students can expect to work 8-12 hour daily shifts supporting a specific festival department. Externships encompass both paid and unpaid opportunities, with the allocation determined by the respective participating companies. Unpaid externships typically require the ability to earn college credit.
