'Start Strong, Stay Strong'

Preschool Nutrition Education Programme

(Registration for Preschools & Early Education Centres)

Start Strong, Stay Strong is a new signature nutrition and sustainability education programme by FairPrice Foundation, developed in partnership with Terra SG. The programme is designed to expose young learners to the fundamentals of food and nutrition, and encourages healthy eating habits for kids to start their lives strong!

Through the programme, children will develop a strong, foundational understanding of food and nutrition, learn to make healthier food choices, and understand the impact of their actions on their households and the environment. These lessons aim to help them develop habits that can lead to lifelong well-being.

The programme consists of three main components: Healthy Plate Heroes, Take-Home Mission and Supermarket Spree.
 

Session A: Healthy Plate Heroes
Children will embark on an exciting journey to discover vibrant food groups and essential nutrients, and learn how they can build a balanced diet to keep their bodies healthy and strong.

Venue: In-school
Duration: 1 Hour 30 Mins

Complete at Home: Take-Home Mission
Children will be given a Take-Home Mission booklet to complete at home. The booklet includes several activities for both parent and child to work on together, to explore the different food habits and needs within the household. 

Session B: Supermarket Spree
Children will take on the roles of nutrition detectives in an engaging supermarket journey, where they are tasked to find foods best suited for the unique health needs of various characters!

As they explore, they'll learn how to read nutrition labels to identify healthier and better-value options, understand food waste, and appreciate imperfect foods, all of which will empower them to make better food choices.

Duration: 1 Hour 30 Mins

• Please note that this booking form is for your indication of preferred session dates for both the Healthy Plate Heroes (Session A) and the Supermarket Spree (Session B). These 2 sessions should be held on separate days.

• Centres are to submit one consolidated booking for all classes involved.
  
  
• All children aged N2 - K2 are eligible for the programme. We encourage the centre to register all eligible children.
  
  
• All bookings are subjected to availability. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email within 3 - 7 working days from the booking date. If all your chosen dates are unavailable, we will contact you to reschedule the session. 
  
  
• The Start Strong, Stay Strong team reserves the right to make reasonable adjustments to the programme schedule, content, format, venue, or facilitators due to unforeseen circumstances or operational requirements. Participating centres will be informed of any such changes as early as possible.

By submitting this booking, centres agree that FairPrice Foundation and Terra SG shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, incident, or damages arising from participation in the programme and agree to indemnify and hold harmless FairPrice Foundation and Terra SG against any related claims or liabilities.
