CAIR-LA is thrilled to invite you to submit your film for our upcoming Social Justice Film Screening, an event dedicated to highlighting the transformative power of film in addressing and advancing social justice issues.
Submission Details:
Eligibility: Films directed by youth (ages 13-33).
Themes: Social justice issues including but not limited to racial equality, environmental sustainability, gender equity, and human rights.
Quranic Implementation: You must select one verse from the following to implement/include in the film.
Please choose (1) of the following ayahs from the Quran to implement/include in your short film:
- Verily God commands justice, excellent conduct, and caring for one’s relatives, and He forbids all forms of immorality, evil and transgression. He admonishes you so that you may take heed (Qur’an, 16:90).
- O you who believe, be persistently standing firm in justice, as witnesses before God, even if it be against yourselves or your parents and relatives (Qur’an, 4:135).
- Let not the hatred of others towards you prevent you from being just. Be just, that is closer to piety (Qur’an 5:8).
