Purpose
The National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT) is committed to recognizing that there are systemic barriers to entrance in the transportation field. To help bring a diverse perspective and support the career advancement of females, underrepresented minorities, and underserved populations, each year, up to three students will receive the NCIT Advancing Excellence in Education Scholarship. In addition, the winners will be paired with a mentor from among the NCIT leadership ranks, such as an advisory board or steering committee member.
Award Amount
$2000 per awardee for an academic year. $1000 per semester.

Eligibility
- Freshman or higher at the start of the upcoming Fall 2024 semester
- Freshmen will need to have completed one semester
- Must demonstrate a strong interest in pursuing a career in the transportation profession. Pursue a transportation-related baccalaureate degree at one of the NCIT partnering institutions and enter the transportation profession
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
Conditions
- Recipients are eligible for funding only during the months of enrollment as a full-time student in programs leading to a degree.
- Recipients agree to engage in the NCIT Leadership through the Mentoring Program and the NCIT Student Council. Mentors will be faculty and/or other undergraduate/graduate students.
