Manhattan Borough President’s Office Manhattan Future Leaders Fellowship
The Manhattan Borough President’s Office (MBPO) has created a structured fellowship that promotes leadership, civic engagement, and professional development in high school students throughout the borough of Manhattan. Through monthly trainings, community mentorships, and additional opportunities to engage with various local leaders, MBPO Student Fellows will learn about the various roles of local New York City government agencies, participate in public policy discussions, and identify strategies to address pressing issues facing their communities.
Students will recieve instruction from members of the MPBO policy, community affairs, communications, and other teams. The program will culminate with students presenting a capstone project about two (2) policy recommendations of their interest/choice.
Fellows will have the opportunity to connect with community leaders throughout the borough and will walk away with a deeper understanding of government, the legislative process, functions of the MBPO Office, and how to enact change in your community.
