    This virtual learning course is based on 9-week modules consisting of an estimated time of 5 hours per week. The estimated time to finish the entire module is 45 hours. Evaluations include information on the amount of time spent on each weekly lesson. If necessary, modules will be adjusted over time based on this feedback to remain consistent with the expected amount of work. This course is expected to begin on February 9th, provided we meet the minimum enrollment of 20 students.
  • About the Course

    This online course explains all aspects of a developmentally appropriate infant-toddler program and leads the participant through the processes of planning and implementing every aspect of caring for and teaching infants, toddlers, and twos. The course is divided into nine weeks. Topics include: Child Development; Observation, Documentation and Assessment; Culture and Families; Creating Parent Partnerships; Physical Development and Nutrition; Language and Literacy; Social/Emotional Development; Cognitive Development; and Infant Toddler Mental Health. Assignments consist of information from the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines for Infants and Toddlers and relevant articles that are followed up with activities to move theory into practice. Students must be able to observe infants and toddlers within their program or at another infant and toddler program.
