The Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic (the Event) is organised by the New Zealand Water Ski Racing Association (NZWSRA). The organisers have a number of rules and procedures designedto reduce risks, however there are a number of factors (such as weather, river conditions,competitor behaviour) that cannot be controlled.

Accordingly, competitors must accept responsibility for a number of the risks associated with participation in what is an inherentlydangerous event. The very nature of the Event exposes competitors, spectators, and others torisks including complete loss or total destruction of property (including but not limited toboats and / or equipment), serious physical injury and / or mental disability, or even death.If you have any questions or concerns about these risks you should contact the Eventorganisers. Before being able to compete, you must complete the following declaration

declare that:
1. My accepted entry will not be transferred to another entrant.

2. In the event of any “act of God” or other condition beyond the reasonable control of the organisers causing cancellation of my participation in the Event, my total entry fee is not transferable or refundable.

3. I acknowledge my participation in the Event exposes myself, other competitors, spectators, and others to the risks involved with the Event, fully realise the dangers of participating in events such as this, and fully assume the risks associated with such participation and my wellbeing during the Event.

4. I have either insured myself in respect of the risks associated with the Event or decided not to do so.

5. I will indemnify the NZWSRA, its sponsors and other parties associated with the Event (Including volunteers) against any claims, losses, expenses, or demands arising out of or relating to my participation in the Event.

6. I understand and agree that situations may arise during the Event, which may be beyond the immediate control of officials or organisers, and I must continually participate in a manner that does not endanger either myself or others.

7. Neither the organisers, the sponsors nor other parties associated with the Event (including volunteers) shall have any responsibility, financial or otherwise, for any risk incident that might arise, whether or not by
negligence, from any direct or indirect loss, injury or death that might be sustained or caused by me or any other party directly or indirectly associated with me, from my intended or actual participation in the Event or its related activities.

8. I authorise my name, voice, picture and information to be used by the NZWSRA without payment to me in any broadcast, telecast, promotion, advertising, or any other way pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993.

9. I agree to comply with the rules, regulations and Event instructions of the Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic and acknowledge that failure to do so may result in disqualification.

10. I am not suffering from any medical condition that would make it dangerous for me to compete in the Event, and will not compete while under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drugs. I consent to receiving medical treatment which may be advisable in the event of illness or injuries suffered during the Event.

11. The equipment I will be using in the Event (whether boat, ski, buoyancy vest, ski rope, helmet, or otherwise) is in good and safe condition.
