Since 2018, SU Pin-Wen has been photographing nipples. Inviting volunteers of all genders to bare their chests for an epic archive of areolas. A Radical Nipple delves into the dynamics of power and consent, turning the simple act of photography into a radical conversation that blurs the lines between the personal and the political. The result is a thought-provoking and very cheeky exploration of body image, consent, and cultural perceptions.
As a part of Melbourne Fringe, the photographic archive of A Radical Nipple will be on display at the Festival Hub at Trades Hall.
We are also inviting individuals to sign up for a one-on-one shoot with SU Pin-Wen, to join the archive!
The shoots with Pin-Wen emphasizes the process of informed consent between the photographer and the participants, fostering discussions that intersect personal experiences and body concepts.
「奶頭拍攝計畫」是2018年由台灣女性主義藝術家蘇品文發起的一對一參與式攝影計畫，發表於同年臺北藝穗節《少女須知》概念宣傳；2020年蘇品文重啟「奶頭拍攝計畫」成為獨立於《少女須知》外的獨立攝影作品。
A Radical Nipple 探問傳統攝影中的主從關係，提議與傳統男性凝視迴異的創作途徑，經營攝影師與被拍攝對象的雙方知情同意過程與成品，展開體現經驗與身體觀念的交叉討論；2024年品文欲更近一步以非視覺的方式呈現，「奶頭拍攝計畫」Podcast將成為“觀眾”更靠近作品的另一扇窗，聽見蘇品文女性主義藝術的現場。
Dates and Location
The shoots will take place on Monday 14th October and Tuesday 15th of October, at the Melbourne Fringe Festival Hub:
Trades Hall, Cnr of Lygon St and Victoria St, Carlton 3053
Each shoot will take approximately 60-80 minutes.
Audio Recordings/Podcast
As a part of each shoot, Pin-Wen will discuss gender and the body with you. This will be recorded for potential use in a future podcast. The images and your recording will remain anonymous.

Images
As part of the shoot Pin-Wen will consult with you about which images will become a part of the archive. You will then be emailed a digital copy of your images after the shoots. By taking part in the project you consent to the selected photographs being used for future iterations of the project, including for public digital and printed content.
