How to Submit Test Shots
Most agencies require standard poses for model submissions. These are called test shots or snapshots. Their purpose is to show the agency what you look like naturally, so please follow the tips below in taking these shots:
- Don't smile, but don't scowl either. Your expression should be neutral.
- Don't wear heavy make-up. No make-up is ideal, but any make-up worn should be minimal and completely natural looking.
- Don't Photoshop, filter, or otherwise edit your image. It should be straight from your phone/camera.
- Do use soft, natural light whenever possible. Flash can make you look washed out if not used correctly.
- Do wear basic, neutral clothing. This is not the time to showcase your impeccable fashion sense ;)
- Do review the reference images below and try to match them as closely as possible.
