CAREER Proposal Development for the National Science Foundation (NSF)’s Directorate for STEM Education

Please join us for a 5-part series that provides a roadmap to increasing your understanding and competitiveness in the NSF CAREER Program.

 

These informational sessions are designed for early-career STEM Education Faculty at minority-serving institutions (MSIs) who aspire to submit proposals to the National Science Foundation (NSF)’s Directorate for STEM Education in the July 2025 competition. At these webinars, participants will learn about the CAREER program requirements and gain invaluable insights into how to tailor their proposals to meet NSF expectations effectively, emphasizing both intellectual merit and broader impacts.

CAREER proposers must meet all of the following eligibility requirements as of the annual deadline:  

• Hold a doctoral degree in a field supported by NSF;
• Be engaged in research in an area of science, engineering, or education supported by NSF
• Hold at least a 50% tenure-track (or tenure-track-equivalent) position as an assistant professor (or equivalent title);
• Be untenured; and
• Have not previously received a CAREER award. (Prior or concurrent Federal support for other types of awards for non- duplicative research does not preclude eligibility).
