    Who can submit?
    You must be:

    • age 18 +
    • an AGSC member in good standing
    • a resident of Saskatchewan

    What can I submit?

    You can submit a maximum of three (3) of any combination of the following:

    • Two-dimensional art that can be easily hung on the wall, such as paintings, drawings, tapestry, etc;
    • Three-dimensional art that can be shown on a plinth, such as sculpture, jewelry, and pottery;
    • Editioned artwork, such as printmaking, ceramics, etc. All print editions must be numbered. The entire edition will be considered as one piece.


    Please note that:

    • ALL work must be ready for display.
    • Artwork must not have been shown at the Art Gallery of Swift Current or West Wing Gallery in a prior exhibition.
    • Artwork must be original and created by the applicant.
    • AI generated images will NOT be accepted.
    • Work must be suitable for the general public.


    Important Dates

    October 25, 2024: Deadline to submit your entry form and artwork information. This includes labels and photos of your work.

    No late submissions will be accepted!

    November 5 - 9, 2024: Artwork delivery to AGSC
    November 29, 2024: Public reception at 7:00 pm
    January 4, 2025: Last day of exhibition
    January 7 - 11, 2025: Artwork pickup from AGSC

    As a Member of AGSC, you are guaranteed to have at least one piece displayed in the show. We cannot guarantee that all pieces submitted will be displayed.

  • Pricing and Sales

  • Pricing your Artwork

    • We encourage the work submitted be available for sale.
    • Pieces for sale will be prioritized over pieces not for sale.
    • Price your work thoughtfully, considering: the labour and cost of materials in your work; what people are likely to pay for the artwork; and how other participants are pricing their work. Don't forget that AGSC will receive a commission of 20% of artwork sales.

    Sales

    By submitting your work to the Members' Showcase, you agree to donate 20% of sales to AGSC, in support of our programming.

    • Following the exhibition's closing, cheques will be mailed from the City of Swift Current with the balance of 80% of the total sale proceeds. Please contact us if you do not receive your cheque within 30 days of the show's end date.
    • We cannot share purchaser information without permission. We recommend that you provide business cards or thank you cards to be included with your artwork so buyers may contact you if they wish.

    Artwork displayed in the gallery must remain until the end of the exhibition, except for editioned pieces, which can be taken by the buyer upon purchase.

  • Artwork Guidelines

  • Two dimensional artwork
    Artwork that is framed or on canvas, and that can be easily hung with one or two nails.

    • Larger canvas pieces must be prepared for hanging with D-rings.
    • Framed pieces must be in sturdy frames.
    • Pieces may also be hung with magnets, clips, or mirror hooks.

    Three dimensional artwork

    • Work must be able to sit/stand safely on it's own.
    • Smaller work will be set on a plinth.

    All work submitted must be in saleable condition:

    • Completed (no works in progress)
    • Clean and free from stains and smudges
    • Paintings dry and ceramics fired
    • Made from stable materials
    • No loose parts
    • Frames should not be warped or coming loose
    • Fragile surfaces such as pastel or charcoal should be fixed with a spray fixative OR behind glass in a frame.

  • Transportation of Artwork

  • Drop off

    • Drop off dates for artwork(s) are November 5th - 9th, 2024 (12:00-5:00pm)
    • Have your name, the title of the artwork, and year clearly labelled on the back or bottom of your work.
    • Due to limited storage space, we ask that you please unwrap your work and take your packing materials with you after dropping off your work.
    • If you have unique wrapping or cards for your artwork in case of purchase, please let us know and we can make arrangements to keep them on hand.
    • Business cards are welcome and encouraged! We will have them available for gallery visitors.

    Pick up

    • Pick-up dates for any unsold artwork(s) are January 7th - 11th, 2025 (12:00-5:00pm)
    • Participants will be responsible for packing unsold artworks. Please remember to bring your packing materials when you come to pick up your work.
    • AGSC staff will wrap up any artwork that has been sold.
