Out of Work List
The Unindentured Apprentice program out-of-work list will be comprised of one (1) list sorted by date and time added to the list.
Dormant Unindentured Apprentices
Definition Dormant Unindentured Apprentice - A dormant unindentured apprentice is someone who is on the out-of-work list but is not actively bidding on job calls.
Unindentured Apprentices dormant for a period one (1) month may be removed from the out-of-work list and will require re-registration. All unindentured apprentices on the out-of-work list should be actively trying to obtain an unindentured apprentice position.
Callout By Name
Employers cannot call out Unindentured Apprentices by name.
Employers can call out Unindentured Apprentices by location of residence.
Quitting a Work Assignment
An Unindentured Apprentice shall be able to quit a work assignment. However, they will not be able to sign the out-of-work list for a period of 15 calendar days.
Discharge For Cause
An Unindentured Apprentice being discharged for cause shall not be able to sign the out-of-work list for a period of 30 calendar days.
An Unindentured Apprentice being discharged for cause twice shall be removed from the UA program.
Failing a Drug Test
An Unindentured Apprentice who is “Not In Good Standing” with IBEW/NECA Drug Free Policy cannot sign the out-of-work list until they have received “In Good Standing” status.
