Harbor's Electronics Policy

Student safety is our number one priority.  Our electronics policy has been set up to protect all students and create a positive learning environment.

CELL PHONES

• Students may carry a cell phone in their backpack but they are not permitted to have it out during school hours (including lunch).  
• If a student needs to contact their parent/guardian during the day, they need to go to the leadership table and a leader will give them permission to use their phone. We will always permit a student to contact their parents/guardians.
• A parent or guardian who wishes to speak with their child during the school day should call or text Harbor's phone and we will get your student from class so you can speak to them. We will always permit you to speak to your child.

INTERNET USE/ELECTRONIC DEVICES

• Internet use may only be used under instructor supervision or during study hall time and only for academic purposes. Violating this may result in removal from onsite classes.
• With the exception of students who have a study hall hour, students may only use devices provided by Harbor and only with instructor supervision. 
• Any devices taken out during class or lunch, will be put in a clear pouch and the student can retreive it at the end of the hour.

CONSEQUENCES

(Extreme cases may result in immediate dismissal from onsite classes at Harbor Homeschool.)

1. First Offense
 - Verbal Warning. The student will be asked to place their phone/device in a clear pouch.  They can retrieve it at the end of that class period or lunch hour. 
2. Second Offense
 - The student will give the device to the Family Director. The director will contact parents and a parent must pick up the device at dismissal. 

3. Third Offense
 - A meeting will be held. Harbor Homeschool reserves the right to make any final decision based on circumstances.
