All Things at Once
Creative Development
Australian Cast Audition
Application Form
(Deadline: Thursday, 26 September 2024, 11:59pm)
In 2023 Infinity, a Melbourne-based theatre company committed to making performances with children and young people began collaborating with 6 young adult Hong Kong actors. During 6 months of online meetings, the cast entered into a series of personal and group discussions having not met IRL. They shared freely and courageously. This formed the basis of a script that explored love, death, and what it means to be young and living in Hong Kong in 2024. This performance All Things at Once then premiered as part of the 52nd Hong Kong Arts Festival’s Young Friends Special programme to critical acclaim.
From 21-25 October 2024, Infinity and three of the cast from the Hong Kong production will collaborate with South Australian actors to begin the development of a companion performance. This new work is a guise to see through the eyes of an emerging generation of young adults who face extraordinary change and opportunities in the years ahead. It's an attempt to highlight the brilliance, romance and at times, confusing agony of what it means to be young and living between Australia and Asia.
We are seeking three Asian Australian performers based in South Australia with cultural backgrounds from East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and West Asia. You could be a professional or amateur performer.

- It will be a group audition. How you work together is important. This is an ensemble performance.
- The first-round audition will take place over Zoom. Please make sure you are in a private space where you feel comfortable for the audition. Taking a little time to prepare for this beforehand will be helpful. Also, please consider how you use your camera to present yourself and construct your online image.

Imagine the consequences/how this challenge may play out in 10 years’ time.
- Future Self Conversation: If you were to have a conversation with yourself 10 years in the future, what sorts of things would you discuss? Please prepare 5 questions.
- Things to consider: When it comes to improvisation, you can choose another actor to be your future self or present-day self.
- Questions for Fellow Auditionees: Please bring along 3 questions to ask your fellow auditionees and potentially some of the Hong Kong cast members. (Please be prepared to talk about random things with strangers. Part of this process requires the cast to get to know each other through video conferencing software.)
