Adoption Policy
We're so excited that you have chosen Moonlight Dreams Rabbitry! Please be thorough while reading our Adoption policy. Let us know if you have any questions!
Moonlight Dreams Rabbitry is located in Thomasville Pa. We are happy to sell to local families along with families out of state through third party transport companies. Transport is separate from our Rabbitry and will have a fee of its' own. I'm happy to help find transport as well as explain how transport works. There are a few different options when it comes to transport. Each varies depending on the type of transport and the company. Please see our page titled "Transportation" for more information. Our bunnies are mainly sold through a priority waiting list. It is a $50 nonrefundable deposit to get onto our waiting list. The deposit goes towards the total of the bunny. As always, our Rabbitry has first pick of our litters to continue to better our lines. From there, our waiting list will have first dibs of our bunnies. With our scheduled breedings, this will give you a wide variety of colors to choose from. If you have a specific color you want, you can also make a "preference" on the waitlist form. Any bunny in my "Available" highlight has gone through our waiting list and is available as FCFS. For those that are not on the waiting list: Once our bunnies have gone through the waiting list, they will then be available to the public as FCFS. Nonrefundable deposits are 50% of the total cost of any bunny under 8 weeks old. I do not hold any bunny without this deposit. If a bunny is over 8 weeks old and ready to leave, the full price is due to hold it. Boarding prices may apply if I'm holding a bunny past it's go home date. Any remaining balance is due before the bunny leaves my possession whether its at pick up or before the bunny leaves for transport. Deposits are nonrefundable. (Unless something happens to the bunny while in my care) Moonlight Dreams’ bunnies range from $100 to $400. Prices are non-negotiable. All sales are final once the bunny leaves my possession. There will be no refunds, replacements or exchanges. Deposits cannot be transferred to another bunny. If you decide you no longer want a bunny, your deposit is forfeited and will not be returned. Be sure you have an idea on transport or pick up arrangements before reserving a bunny, as deposits are nonrefundable and boarding fees will apply. Bunnies will not leave my possession until they are 8 weeks old. No younger. If you need me to hold your bunny longer than their pick up date, there will be a boarding fee. The only exception being transport and if the bunny is picked up within a month of turning 8 weeks old. Boarding price is $5/day. If you do not pick up your bunny on the pick up date or the other arranged date made, I will assume you forfeit the bunny and I have the right to re-list it. You will not be refunded as deposits are nonrefundable. It is the buyer's responsibility to bring a bunny-safe carrier or box (lined with a soft material) for the bunny to safely travel home in. Please ensure the carrier contains hay for the bunny's comfort. Water should be included if the travel time is over an hour. Pricing is based off of lines, type potential, color, markings, Vienna markings, as well as everything we put into our bunnies, etc. See our pinned “Pricing Reflects:” post for more details. All of our bunnies have a pedigree. I need to know if you want a pedigree at the time of reserving your bunny so I can have it ready for you. Pedigrees are optional and an additional $30 fee. Pedigrees are emailed. If you do not want the pedigree, your new furry baby will come with a birth certificate. Please let me know the name you want on the birth certificate before pickup. Otherwise the name given here will be used. I do not guarantee type, temperament, adult weight/size, etc. We handle and socialize our bunnies starting at a very young age. It is up to you to continue to handle and socialize your bunny. You get what you put in to your bunny, aside from their natural personality. Any bunny I sell is healthy to the best of my knowledge. I am with them daily so if something is off, I know quickly. I check over all my bunnies on a daily basis (eyes, ears, butt, nose, etc.) I will not sell a bunny until I am confident it is healthy. I am not responsible for any vet bills once the bunny leaves my possession. If the bunny you reserved dies in my possession, you will be refunded or can choose an available replacement bunny of the same value. Things happen and we occasionally lose a baby bunny due to weaning enteritis, bloat, faders, etc. Baby bunnies can be fragile. The sex of the bunny is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. I check genders multiple times before reservations and before they leave for their new home, and I have been doing this for a long time, so its unlikely the gender is not accurate. However, It is your responsibility to check the gender and health at pick up, as there is no refunds once the bunny leaves my possession. I am a closed rabbitry. This keeps any virus/illness out of my rabbitry and gives me a peace of mind. It is important that I keep my bunnies healthy and avoid having to do any extra medications/quarantine if they were to get sick from visitors. I post a lot of videos and pictures on my page to help make up for this and so you can see your bunny. It is up to you to research and learn what is best for your bunny once it’s in your care. I have added care information to my Instagram highlights and website to help guide you to being the best bunny parent. Once you reserve your bunny, I will email you an extensive care sheet. Please prepare and educate yourself before adding a bunny so the bunny can have a great life. It can take some time for your bunny to adjust to a new home. During this time, your bunny will learn to be comfortable in its new environment and will learn to trust you as its new owner. Please be patient and calm around your new fur baby to help it settle in. Do not feed your new baby bunny treats, fruits, or vegetables until they are 6 months old. Bunnies have a sensitive digestive system and these can cause upset tummies. Waiting untill 6 months is a "better safe than sorry" guideline. You never know when or if your bunny will get stressed, eat something that upsets their tummy or get sick, and this will HELP and could even save your bunny's life. PLEASE have an exotic vet that specializes in bunnies lined up for your new baby before bringing him/her home. You do not want to wait until an emergency happens. If you can no longer provide a home for a Moonlight Dreams bunny, we will always take our bunnies back. We do not want any of our bunnies in shelters!! Again, we will always take back our bunnies before that is an option for you.
