In order to achieve the best outcomes possible for the children who attend our church schools it is essential that the Foundation Governors appointed to the governing board have the commitment and skills needed to lead the school forward.

To ensure the best mix of skills and experience we ask that you complete this expression of interest form detailing the reasons for your application and any skills, experience or training that you feel is relevant to the needs of the governing bodies of church schools.

In order to help with this, a list of skills and experience is given, however it should be noted that it is not expected that every individual governor will have all of those listed, and it is given as a guide. Training will also be available to help develop skills and knowledge.

Key business and management skills & experience:

•              Financial - experience in handling business accounts, and/or Budgeting

•              Marketing - experience in sales, promotion and /or advertising

•              HR - experience in selection and recruitment (interviewing)

•              Social media - proficient at making use of contemporary means of communication e.g. twitter, Fb, Instagram

•              Safeguarding - used to working with vulnerable groups and/or understanding of special needs & Child Protection

•              DATA/ICT - Some working knowledge of data systems and analysis

•              Education - some understanding of education having or have worked in schools.

Faith and Community Commitments

•              Church - strong links with a local church and/or Diocese;

•              Community - other good links with community activity or organisations;

•              Faith – used to discussing or thinking about the interface of faith and social issues such as in education.
