The Better Family Life Kwanzaa Holiday Expo

Kwanzaa Holiday Expo is an annual event highlighting the fourth principle of KWANZAA - UJAMAA (Cooperative Economics) - catering to the individual or business looking to promote or sell their product or service. The Expo will be held in our National Headquarters: the Better Family Life Cultural, Educational and Business Center, a 60,000 sq. ft. facility listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Whether your business is new or established, you are seeking a promotional opportunity or to increase your clientele, the Kwanzaa Holiday Expo will provide you with a marketplace brimming with networking and sales opportunities. This event welcomes a host of shoppers each year. We encourage any business or individual selling hand-crafted items, artwork, apparel, jewelry or other accessories; home goods, body care essentials or the like to reserve a booth today.

Please be advised that Covid 19 is still a concern. It is optional for all vendors and visitors to wear a mask when entering the Better Family Life Cultural Center. If the local government should suspend any and all indoor gatherings, you will be immediately notified of the event changes.

LESSOR agrees to provide LESSEE with a booth space containing one (1) table and two (2) chairs in an area approximately 8’x 4’. Once LESSEE has been assigned a booth space LESSEE will not be allowed to move around and/or expand into other spaces.

To pay a fee in full, according to specifications of this agreement, by Friday, December 2, 2024 to Better Family Life, Inc. Fee is to be paid by cashier’s check, money order, cash, credit card (AMEX, MC, VISA, or Discover), or on the Eventbrite website.

LESSEE’s booth must be completely set up by 10am on December 14th. Under no circumstances will LESSEE be allowed to sell or distribute any pork or pork by-products, alcoholic beverages, street gang paraphernalia, cigarettes, drugs or any other illegal materials; nor shall the LESSEE promote the use or sale of the same in products and/or services. LESSOR is not responsible for the quality of items sold by LESSEE.

LESSEE shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless LESSOR from and against any and all liability (statutory or otherwise), suits, judgments, costs and expenses (including, but not limited to attorney fees and disbursement) arising from any injury to, or death of any person or persons, or damage to property, including loss thereof, related in any way to the LESSEE’s use of and presence on the premises, and participation in this event.

Established Event

The BFL Kwanzaa Holiday Expo is a 40-year old regionally known event that draws shoppers from the entire St. Louis metropolitan area.

BOOTH INFORMATION

(NO ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS. All applications and full payments must be received by Monday, December 2nd, 2024 1. Early Bird Rate (Ends Monday, October 14th)

$200 - Non Corporate | $300 - Institutional | $500 - Corporate

2. Regular Rate (Begins Tuesday, October 15th. Ends Monday, December 2nd)

NOTE: No registrations accepted after December 2nd.

Payments can be made by cash, check, money order, VISA, MasterCard, Discover or AMEX. Payments can also be made on-line at Eventbrite. Final payment due by Monday, December 2nd.

EVENT TIMES

Saturday, Dec. 14th, 10am - 7pm & Sunday, Dec. 15th, 12 noon - 6pm. Vendors will be able to enter the marketplace at 8am on Saturday the 14th, and 11am on Sunday the 15th. ALL VENDORS must set up their booth on Saturday, December 14th, by 10:00am.

Each vendor receives an 8’ x 4’ booth space with a table & two chairs, one vendor sign, and two vendor badges. Power strips/extension cords will not be provided

CANCELLATION POLICY

$50 of each booth is non-refundable in the event of a vendor cancellation any time after Friday, December 6th, no matter what the reason(s), i.e. weather, transportation issues, illness, act of God, civil disobedience, product shipment problems, act of war, etc.

Only items listed may be sold. LESSOR retains the right to shut down LESSEE’S booth, preventing any selling whatsoever, if LESSEE is in violation of any terms of the rental agreement, is behaving in such a manner deemed inappropriate by the LESSOR, and/or is engaged in any illegal activity. If this occurs, LESSEE therefore forfeits any and all types of refund on their booth. Food Vendors Only: Lessee is responsible for obtaining a food permit from the St. Louis City Health Department.

Notice: Lessee forfeits any and all refunds due if the Lessee fails to set up their booth within the Lessor’s scheduled time and/or fails to comply with Lessor’s policies, rules and regulations.
