Geri Stone Memorial Fund 2024 Award Application
The Geri Stone Memorial Awards Program is a national competition. Applications will be reviewed and selected by a committee representing the Stone family, RRCNA, and the Reading Recovery Council of Michigan. Favorable consideration will be given to those who:
- have a compelling purpose or need;
- demonstrate a deep commitment to furthering Reading Recovery, and,
- can document the activities or outcomes associated with the award.
Please follow the format, be unique in your submission, and be very specific in the amount requested. Innovative applications will receive special consideration. Award winners must be active members of RRCNA.

The deadline to apply is Friday, October 19, 2024 at midnight, ET.

Describe the purpose of your request along with a budget of how funds will be used. The purpose must respond to at least one of the following categories: Training a new Reading Recovery Teacher, Teacher Leader, or Trainer | Professional Development, including conference attendance, for a Reading Recovery professional | Reading Recovery school systems that need funds for early literacy efforts |Reading Recovery professionals who need funding to assist with early literacy advocacy, research, and evaluation. Special consideration will be given to those who apply for creative uses of the fund!*

Recommendation from Supervisor*

On official letterhead, please have your supervisor (teacher leader, trainer, superintendent, principal) write a brief letter of recommendation on your behalf. The letter must state that you are currently working in Reading Recovery. Describe how your attendance will benefit the implementation of Reading Recovery in the district and show the district’s financial need.
