About Emily Goodson, author of Dating "Disability"
At age 8, Emily experienced a childhood brain injury, resulting in partial paralysis on the left side of hr body. After this injury, Emily faced a host of emotional and physical challenges, achieved significant recovery, and emerged empowered to educate others.
Emily's creative work has been featured in the LA Times as well as in several photo gallery exhibits, sponsored by Disability Rights Now and the Bold Beauty Project.
In addition to these endeavors, Emily provides consulting services to help organizations, ranging from start-ups to major production companies, build inclusive workplaces. She has also helped curate and design curriculums for Intimacy Professionals Association.
About Michael Appleton, author of The Shame Deception
Michael Appleton is a senior psychotherapist in the British National Health Service specialising in adult and childhood trauma. He has consulted for British Airways, has been a clinical lead for MIND and his journalism has appeared in The Washington Times, The Belfast Telegraph, UPI (United Press International) and The Observer. He has also been involved in television documentaries such as Shrinking Childhoods, Facing The Enemy and The Trouble with Peace for the BBC, Channel 4 and The History Channel.
