Culture Lab LIC is seeking applications to create a mural for the exterior of a new indoor pickleball venue (4-courts) in Long Island City, Queens. (Images of current exterior shown below.)
Garage door to be replaced with new glass front enclosure. (See rendering below.)
The mural should cover the wall on both sides of the new glass enclosure (9' high by 8' on left, 9' high by 40' on right side)
Right side of mural must prominently display the name of the venue (Gotham Pickleball) and be in alignment with brand guidelines (to be shared after initial artist screening)
Budget: $2,500 to $3,500
Artists must submit five examples of their past mural work on public display.
Artists selected during the initial screening process will be provided with brand guidelines and will be asked to create a sketch of their proposal before a contract is awarded.
Timing of painting is to be determined in consultation with venue owner, but will need to be completed before November 1

Five previously installed large format public murals, painted within the last 7 years in the form of hyperlinks to social media posts, articles, etc, or as an image file submission. If sending a file, please label each file as follows: Year_LastName_FirstName_TitleOfWork.jpg (Note: Year refers to the date that the mural was completed) Example: 2019_Smith_Jane_Tranquility.jpg
Confirmation of availability to work in June and July 2020.
Confirmation of legal status to work / volunteer paint in the United States.
