GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION(S)
- Open to all media including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, prints, drawings, mixed media, photography, and digitally created art.
- Submission must weigh no more than 50 pounds and be able to be hung with a cable on a picture rail.
- Each artist may submit no more than three (3) pieces.
- No application fee or cost to submit.
- No commission will be collected and artist will not be compensated for their work.
- Submitted pieces will be weighted on space limitations. Council Chambers is open to review for artists.
- Artist must reside in the Walla Walla Valley defined by the City purchasing policy as City and County of Walla Walla extending to Dayton and Milton-Freewater.
- Artist must be 18 years of age or older.
- Art pieces selected will be in residence at the Walla Walla City Council Chambers for one year.
- A jury will select the art piece to be placed in residence. Jury may consist of 3-4 people: 1 community member, 1 local artist, 1 member of the Arts Commission and 1 member of ArtWalla.
- Artist may elect to leave pricing and contact details for the City to provide to parties interested in purchasing the piece after the residency.
  
  Artists may expect the following approximate timeline for submissions, review, and installation:
  - Submissions open on September 18, 2024;
  - Sumissions close on November 30, 2024;
  - Jury review will happen in December 2024;
  - Selected art will be presented Arts Commission at the January 8, 2025, meeting;
  - Artists will be notified of the recommendations the third week of January 2025;
  - Commission recommendation will be presented to the City Council January 22, 2025;
  - Installation slated to begin in February 2025;
  - Reception will be announced after the installation is complete.
