The Helping Hands program at Oak Park Church of Christ

Every Wednesday at 9 AM, registration opens for the next day’s Helping Hands Program.

Please note:

• Limited spots are available. One registration per household.
• To ensure fairness for everyone, we may ask for identification or proof of household members if we suspect program abuse.
• Misuse of the program or abuse of volunteers or other users may result in registration cancellation and potential future exclusion.
• Our program is run by donations and volunteers. Please treat them with kindness and respect.
• We want to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
• You will receive your assigned queue number upon completing this registration form.
• On Thursdays, please do not line up outside the church before 8:30 AM.
• Remember to bring your reusable bags. 
• Please arrive promptly and wait for your assigned number to be called.
• Failure to be present when your number is called may result in service delays or cancellation.

Oak Park Church of Christ provides the Helping Hands program as a community service. We strive to offer donated food, clothing, and household items to those in need. However, Oak Park Church of Christ is not responsible for the quality, safety, or suitability of any items provided through this program.

Oak Park Church of Christ is also not liable for any injuries, illnesses, or property damage that may occur on church premises during the Helping Hands program, including damage to vehicles parked in the church parking lot.

By accepting items from the Helping Hands program, you agree to assume full responsibility for your own safety and well-being. Oak Park Church of Christ, its volunteers, and its staff are not liable for any injuries, illnesses, or property damage that may result from the use of these items or from your presence on church property.

Children must be supervised at all times while participating in the Helping Hands program. Oak Park Church of Christ is not responsible for the safety or well-being of any unattended children.

The quantity of items provided is linked to the number of individuals in your household and is limited to the items available. 

Oak Park Church of Christ reserves the right to limit the quantity of items provided to each individual and to refuse service to anyone who abuses the program, disrupts the distribution process, or behaves inappropriately towards staff or volunteers. Any abuse of the program may result in being asked to leave and may prohibit future participation.

Users who do not follow the instructions of church volunteers or staff may also be asked to leave the program.

It is important to inspect all items carefully before use, check expiration dates on food items, and discard any items that appear to be damaged, spoiled, or unsafe. Please note that quantities of certain items may be limited.

By accepting items from the Helping Hands program, you waive Oak Park Church of Christ from any liability.

You also agree to indemnify and hold harmless Oak Park Church of Christ, its volunteers, and its staff from any and all claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising out of your participation in the Helping Hands program. You acknowledge and agree that your participation in the Helping Hands program involves risks, and you assume all such risks.

In the rare event that there is an issue at the program, such as the program is cancelled at short notice, you agree to allow a member of Oak Park Church and or a member of the Helping Hands team to contact you via the communication methods listed to provide this program related information.
