  • GRANT APPLICATION

Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists (YLACES) offers grants to equip the rising generation (K-12) with scientific thinking ability. What prevents you and your students from conducting environmental research? Using the guidelines below, apply for a grant today and let YLACES support your student environmental research.
  • RESEARCH GRANTS

Educators in the US may apply for grants of up $1,500.00 for equipment and logistical support to enable student environmental research. Students are expected to produce research projects and share data through publicly available (or non-proprietary) platforms (school website, Purple Air, CitSci, GLOBE...). Grantees must commit to coaching students in conducting research projects and sharing their observations and reports.

    LOCAL STUDENT RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM

US environmental educators and organizations may apply for grants of up to $5,000 for local student research symposia (SRS). The local SRS supported by YLACES is to be based on the GLOBE Regional SRS model (see pdf below) but instead should be one-day events with student participants drawn from a school, school district(s), a locale, or a small region. Peer review and exposure to STEM professionals are key components to an SRS.

    INTERNATIONAL GRANTS

International environmental educators or organizations may submit grant proposals for equipment up to $1500.00 to facilitate youth environmental research and data collection with the endorsement from the GLOBE Program in their country.

If your project lends itself to forming a partnership with another organization(s), describe the collective and how multi-party funding will increase impact.

Note: Projects receiving multi-year funding require reporting each year of the funding.
