IFT's expanded Teacher Evaluator Administrator Academy program now offers ISBE-approved courses to allow qualified teacher evaluators to retain their qualification credentials.
These trainings will be conducted via Zoom. The new courses are:
- #AA1801 - Gathering Evidence During Observation and Conferencing Using the Danielson Method: Saturday, November 16, 2024; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- #AA3000 - Using Student Growth Data in Professional Evaluations Saturday, February 22, 2025; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Upon passing the state initial evaluator course, an individual becomes a qualified evaluator through the end of their next license cycle after the license cycle in which they completed the initial training. To retain the evaluator qualification, an individual must complete retraining before June 30th of the last year of their next license cycle. Retraining is also required in every subsequent license renewal cycle.
IFT has created an online calculator to help determine when you should take state retraining courses. You can find it at https://myift.ift-aft.org/evaluator-retraining or with this QR code:
This training qualifies for Professional Development credit or Administrator Academy credit. Evidence will be provided for teacher evaluator credentials.
