Welcome to the 2024-2025 1st confession/reconciliation & communion program!

Please note that this is a registration form for BOTH sacraments. The Catholic Church asks that children experience their 1st confession otherwise known as the Sacrament of Reconciliation, before making their 1st Holy Communion.

Yes, the children prepare for both sacraments begining in 2nd grade and yes, confession preparation and celebration comes first.

Was your child was baptised at St-Jérôme - Windsor, Ste. Anne - Tecumseh, Good Shepherd - Lakeshore, St. Gregory Lakeshore, St. William - Emmeryville or St. Simon & St. Jude - Belle River? If so - you do not need to attach a copy of your child's baptismal certificate. If not, you will need a copy of your child's baptismal certificate to upload in order to proceed. The program includes:
1. A welcome Mass
2. Preparation for 1st reconciliation in person (mini retreat) or online,
3. The celebration of 1st reconciliation/confession,
4. Preparation for 1st communion in person (mini retreat) or online,
5. and concludes with the celebration of 1st communion.
Please note that an additional part of ongoing formation in the Catholic Faith, in preparation for the Sacraments is conducted by our area Catholic Schools. Students in public/private schools will also need to complete an at home little catechism book that will be provided at the Welcome Mass. This must be completed at home prior to receiving 1st Communion.

Note about 1st Communion Celebrations:
- Experiences of the sacraments are experiences according to your Parish.
- Therefore, this year we are not loosly assigning classes/schools to a Mass, to encourage attendance at your family's parish Church.
- You may however select any Mass at any parish Church.
- All Mass times displayed in French are also celebrated in French.
- The number of available spots at each celebration depends on the capacity of each location to accomodate 1st communicants among the general congregation.
- There are no limits to # of guests however, there are limits to the reserved seating available per family.
- These are the only available dates.
5. Choose your 1st Communion Celebration:*
We ask a program fee of $30 to cover materials and supplies. HOWEVER, inability or difficulty with payment should never be a reason why a child is unable to participate. For this reason, you can request the fee to be waived. No questions asked. Please note, Ste.Anne's handles the finances for this program for the entire family of parishes - so all funds for 1st Communion are sent to Ste.Anne's in Tecuemseh, Ontario.
