Welcome to this new process.
If no-one from your club attended the Foundation Seminar in March 2025, then a member of your club needs to complete the RI learning center Rotary Grants Recertification 25/26 course, and save a copy of the certificate for upload during this process.
The Authorisation and MoU form (available in Foundation Resources on the District Website) will also need to have been signed, and will need to be uploaded as the end of this jotform. There is a separate version for district hub members, as the Rotarygbi pilot rules out the use of a hub bank account, hence the district foundation treasurer would manage an award.
Some ground rules:
The maximum award that can be applied for is up to 50% of the project budget but not exceeding £500. However, we welcome joint bids by clubs for larger awards (though each club must themselves be qualified, meet the criteria, and have signed the MoU).
Only one award per Club will be considered in the first instance.
The project must link to one of the Rotary Areas of Focus.
Active Rotarian involvement in the project, beyond providing funds, is required.
Awards cannot be used for fundraising activities or to support the operating, administration, or indirect programme expenses of another organisation.
The use of Rotary Foundation funds for events such as parties, concerts and the like, or the supply of refreshments within other events, will not be approved within the Award calculation.
If the project includes such elements, then the breakdown of the project costs and the Award amount being applied for must show it.
To qualify for an Award, a representative of the club will have attended the Foundation Seminar held on March 2025 or completed the RI learning centre Grants Recertification 25/26 course, and acknowledged the Memorandum of Understanding.
Clubs should have donated at least $25 per member to the Annual Fund in each of the last four Rotary years. Exceptions are made for new clubs (including the district hub) and Rotaract Clubs.
The closing date for 2nd round applications is 2nd Jan 2026 and forms must be sent to the Grants Sub-committee via the Jotform link.
Should you have any queries about the process, please contact Richard Cooper directly.
So, please consider how your Rotary club will demonstrate the objectives of Rotary: serving communities at home & overseas by using an Award from the Rotary Foundation District Grant. Your District Foundation team looks forward to seeing your bids.
