This means that any boosters required after first-time immunization for canine influenza, bordetella, or distemper/parvo vaccines must be completed as well.   • Boarding Contract and Cancellation Policy

    Please read the following contract and policy carefully and sign.
  • Boarding Contract

    • Our establishment agrees to exercise due and reasonable care and to keep the premises sanitary and properly enclosed. Your pet will be fed, offered water at all times and housed in safe, clean quarters. The services we provide are done so without liability for loss or damage from disease, death, theft or fire, and from injury or damage done by your pet to people, other animals or property, or other unavoidable causes.
    • Due diligence and care will be exercised by Sunset Kennels. Should any pet become ill or need medical attention, we reserve the right to administer aid and to render care by your designated veterinarian, if available, or by another local and reputable veterinarian. It shall be the responsibility of the owner to pay any veterinary bills that are incurred. If we are unable to contact you, this contract gives Sunset Kennels, its owner and its management staff the permission to make any and all decisions regarding veterinary care for your pet. Sunset Kennels’ policy is to always do all that is necessary to return your pet back to good health in the event of an illness or injury. If you have a differing care directive for your pet, please submit it to Sunset Kennels in writing so that we may follow it in the event that you are unreachable.
    • No pet will be released until all charges are paid in full or other arrangements satisfactory to our kennel have been made. The customer agrees to notify us in advance if there is any change to the pet’s pick-up date. Per civil code #1834.5, any pet left uncalled for fourteen (14) days from the scheduled date of pick up, as noted on your kennel card, will be considered abandoned and shall become the property of Sunset Kennels. The owner of this pet or his agent agrees to pay reasonable legal fees and costs incurred by the kennel in the collection of outstanding bills.
  • Group Play Waiver (dogs only)

    All group play is supervised and managed by at least one staff member at all times. Large breed groups are supervised by at least two staff members. Dogs are grouped together by both size and temperament. NO dogs showing any signs of aggression or anti-social behavior will be allowed to participate in a play group. Even though this is the case, there is an inherent possibility of scrapes or scratches occurring during normal play as well as the potential, if however slight, of a dog fight. Even consensual, rough-housing can cause unintentional injuries. By signing below, you agree to accept responsibility and understand the potential risk involved with dogs interacting with each other. If you have selected that you DO NOT want your dog to be out with other dogs, your dog will NOT be in a group play situation.

  • Cancellation Policy

    Boarding Reservations

    Canceling less than 7 days before expected arrivals may be subject to 15% charge of the total reservation amount (minus extras). Any cancellations made 48 hours or less from the date of drop-off or pick up (i.e. picking up several days early) may be subject to 100% or 3-days worth of charges (whichever is less). Cancellation fees are not charges on add-ons like extra play, treat balls, etc.

    A valid credit card number must be given at the time of making your reservation. No charges or holds are put on said credit card when making your reservation unless you are booking around a major holiday. Cancellation charges will be applied to this card unless otherwise specified.

    Holiday Deposits & Cancellations

    Reservations booked around Memorial Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s will require a $50 deposit (per room) in order to reserve a space for your pet(s). Holiday deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE however, they will be applied to your charges for the reservation at check out. If you cancel your reservation BEFORE the 7-day deadline, your deposit will be forfeited.

    If you cancel LESS than 7 days before your scheduled check-in date, a 15% cancellation fee will be due. Any amount owed beyond the $50 holiday deposit will be charged to the card on file. If you cancel 48 hours or less before your scheduled check-in day, a 100% or 3-day charge (whichever is less) cancellation fee will be due. Any amount owed beyond the $50 holiday deposit will be charged to the card on file.

    Grooming Appointments / Add-ons

    Bath appointments must be canceled at least 1 day in advance. Baths canceled less than 1 day in advance will be charged a 25% fee.
