Your favorite beach. The checker at the grocery store who always makes your day. A boutique you tell everyone about. A librarian who changed someone's life. A teacher. A plumber who showed up when no one else would. A pond. A post office. A town clerk who actually cares. A neighbor. A seasonal institution. A place so perfect it should be famous.
If it makes Cape Cod better, it deserves a Compass. If it is the reason you stay. If it is what you think about all winter. If it is what you miss when you're away. It deserves a Compass.
The Compass Awards are not a popularity contest. The number of nominations a place or person receives is one factor among many. Final selections are made by Cape Cod Star editors based on the quality, depth, and spirit of the nominations received. The most nominated does not automatically win.
Nominations close December 31, 2026. One submission per person. All nominations are considered — final selections are made at the sole discretion of Cape Cod Star editors.
