  • The Davis Farm is a not for profit farm that is creating a space where everyone is welcome and can learn, grow and conect with themsleves and others. Thank you for your intrest in volunteering at the farm. 

    We encourage the participation of volunteers who support our
    mission and are willing to contribute. The information provided through this form will be kept confidential and will help us determine the
    most satisfying and appropriate volunteer opportunity for you.

    It is important to  understand we are a working farm and there are risks involved in working on a farm. You will be expected to adhere to safety rules and not enter parts of the farm that are off limits to volunteers. 

    We do have animals on the farm, but most of our volunteer work is in the gardens.You'll be asked to do weeding, harvesting, raking paths, placing mulch and other garden tasks. The animals are cared for by trained staff members. You may also be able to assist with animal tasks at different times.

  • As a Volunteer at The Davis Farm Inc., you will be expected to conduct yourself in a way that reflects our Mission Statement and Organisation Objectives.

    Mission Statement

    Using permaculture inspired principles to educate the community about healthy and sustainable living. Through this, the organisation will create employment, while promoting inclusiveness and wellness within the community.

    Objectives

    (1) The education and promotion of sustainable farming practices with minimum impact on the environment including:
    (a) Permaculture
    (b) Aboriginal Traditional Methods

    (c) Animal husbandry
    (2) To provide appropriate support services in order to achieve objective (1)

    (3) Those activities that the Board agrees to, that insure the sustainability of the association.

    As a volunteer at The Davis Farm Inc., you will be required to:
    ● Conduct yourself in a respectful, professional manner, inclusive of appropriate

    language and respect of visitors to the farm.
    ● Be responsible for your own physical wellbeing including, but not limited to:

    -  Wearing sun safe clothing, a hat and sunscreen, and being aware of UV ratings and reapplication of sunscreen throughout the day.
    -  Ensuring that you are eating and drinking enough water throughout the day.

    ● understand and comply with all The Davis Farm Inc. policies and procedures. ● inform the organisation of any changes in personal circumstances such as

    criminal charges, convictions and other serious conditions. ● follow reasonable instructions given by your supervisor.

  • Waiver and release


  • The undersigned individual (hereafter referred to using “I”, “me”, “my”, “myself”, or “Volunteer”) wishes to work as a volunteer of The Davis Farm Inc., a nonprofit Organisation (“The Davis Farm”). Volunteer (and Parent/Legal Guardian) understands that volunteering for The Davis Farm will include performing physical labor, handling food products, working with various tools and equipment, planting and harvesting crops, weeding or preparing the fields, working with and caring for livestock, and any other tasks and activities incidental or related to the work of The Davis Farm (the “Volunteer Activities”). Participation in the Volunteer Activities involves certain risks, including, but not limited to, serious injury, and I am voluntarily participating in the Volunteer Activities with knowledge of the potential danger involved. I understand that I will be trained in proper and hygienic harvesting and packing procedures and agree to always abide by these procedures when doing these activities on the farm.

    On behalf of myself and my family, guardians, estate, beneficiaries, heirs, successors and assigns, I (and Parent/Legal Guardian of Volunteer if Volunteer is under age 18) hereby release, discharge and forever hold harmless The Davis Farm and its employees (collectively, the “Organisation”) from all present and future claims or demands for property damage, personal injury, wrongful death and any other liability of whatever kind that may arise as a result of my participation in the Volunteer Activities. I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Organisation for all claims arising out of or relating to my participation in the Volunteer Activities. I understand and agree that the Organisation is not responsible for any injury or damage arising out of the Volunteer Activities, including any injury or damage alleged to have arisen out of negligence by the Organisation.

    I have disclosed any and all allergies or relevant medical conditions to the Organization on the Volunteer Information Form. I agree that The Davis Farm is not responsible for administering medical treatment of any kind.

    I hereby irrevocably grant and assign to the Organisation all right, title and interest in and to any and all photographic images and audio or video recordings of me made by the Organisation during the Volunteer Activities.

    I agree that if any portion of this waiver and release is invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect.

    I am the Volunteer or the Parent/Legal Guardian of the Volunteer. I have read and understood this document, and I am freely and voluntarily, and without any pressure or duress, completing this electronic waiver and release. I am of legal age.
